Single Or Return | 2024 Polyu Digital Media FYP

‘ Single or Return’ is an animation that explores the relationship in a one-parent family. Tilly, the daughter, thinks it is better if Dad can stay with her. However, her workaholic father always leaves her with a tiny wooden bear. The story begins with Tilly and her father boarding the magical train, which will transport them back to their memories. The train brings the father back to his daughter's 6th birthday. He realises his daughter wants him to stay with her rather than play with the wooden bears. The main reason that Tilly feels neglected is the birthday presents given every year. The daughter also enters the memories and finds that her father made an effort to make the present (a wooden bear) for her, and understands that he did not neglect her. In the end, they resolve their misunderstandings and return to the real world.
